I decided these pack bags/organizers from Eagle Creek were the best for me (price, color, material, availability, variety taken into account) and bought a bunch of different ones knowing I would need certain ones for different occasions. On my recent trip to Napa Valley (carry on bag only) I used four of the packs: the tube, two half cubes and one cube. I put a vest in one half cube and a blazer in the other half cube and it worked very well, compressed the items without completely smushing them. I put two pairs of pants, two sweaters (one being a pretty thick cape sweater), one long sleeve shirt and one button down in the cube. The tube had some socks, a cardigan, a cami and actually a bra in it. It worked very well and a friend who traveled with me commented on how much I was able to pack :)
I bought the sport ones knowing I pretty much always bring sportswear with me and obviously I don't want sweaty gear getting other clothing dirty. The tube is great for socks or camis, the shoe bag obviously for shoes, then the different sized cubes for pants vs sweaters etc and then the garment folder for dresses or anything else that is good to hang. The carry on bag I used happens to have it's own garment folder so I didn't need to use it on the trip even though I brought a lot of dresses. I have a trip later this month and might use the folder then, if not it is still good to have for other trips!
The one I had the most trouble deciding on was the electronics organizer basically because it depends on the trip and what electronics I would need to put in it. If traveling outside the U.S. I would probably want a bigger one to fit adapters, but I held off on that for now (even though traveling outside the U.S in February so maybe I will regret it then...). I didn't go with the biggest, because I was worried it would be too big and not fit in many handbags for carry on etc., so I went with the small one. I didn't use it this trip and feel like maybe I should have gone with the medium size so my Kindle would fit in it (at least I think). So I might have failed with this decision slightly, but I will still use the small one I am sure, and might just have to buy another one later down the road. Not the worst thing!
