A friend asked me for help buying a laundry sorter as she is trying to find something functional, but not "hideous" and ideally wants three compartments and of course a good price. She had great timing with asking me as I had recently seen a few that I like and was considering purchasing for myself (making myself hold off for a bit) and I was flying back from a trip so I had time to browse on my iPad (thanks to JetBlue FlyFi). I found a few good options from Joss & Main, which means they are attractive and well priced. I sent them on to my friend and she was quick to say "lots of good choices." Take a look at the ones I found although I am going to keep looking since only three of these have the three compartments she is looking for! Also, some are more attractive than others :)
I recently purchased these Go Clean Pack Bags by Flight 001 and think they are great. I like separating my shoes when I pack especially when some have been worn a lot, are dirty, need protection etc. These are great since they have a different size for heels vs boots, two bags per zip bag and I love that they can neatly be put away in the zip pouch they come in. The bags scrunch close with the drawstring and fit women's shoes up to size 11. Here are the details for the heels and the boots from the Flight 001 website, but you can also buy the packs at Nordstrom :) It was hard, but I resisted buying more of the packs/other items from Flight 001 - they have some great items!
Recently I braved Primark with a friend. It recently opened in Boston so we decided to check it out about a week after it opened. It was crazy busy as expected, but we didn't have to wait in line at the door and the lines for the cashiers weren't too long and moved quickly which was great. We each bought a few items- can't beat the prices! The store is mostly clothing/accessories, but they do have a home section also. We were a bit rushed looking around and I will go back again soon, but I did see these cute laundry bags. No one really likes laundry so you may as well have a fun laundry bag!
They also had bedding which looked nice and some throws that definitely looked cozy! I wish I needed some new bedding right now!
Here are some other items I saw in the store that were cute:
Dear Saturday Pillowcase Set
Home Sweet Home Sign
Hello Striped Metallic Cup with Straw
French Quote 2 Pack Pillowcases
Grey Stripe Weave Basket
My friend recently got a myAgenda from momAgenda and so far she loves it and I love it too ha. My friend got it personalized with her name and the personalization is lovely and not overwhelming. I would buy one immediately for myself if it weren't for the fact I have one for the rest of the year (my Tusk in Sun Small Agenda from Lily Pulitzer, which I also like). I also tend to like spiral bound (although hate when the spirals get bent) and I use Google Calendar most since it can merge with my calendar from work and some calendars shared with other people and I don't want to write things multiple times! I have realized it is a bit silly for me to have an agenda, but I love them!
The myAgenda has great reference pages- holidays, places for your expenses, vacation pages, pages for contacts plus some blank pages for notes then the main positives for me are :
Added more photos to the post in the previous slideshow. Lots of items I brought with me to Peru and Panama. Notebook and pen loop for notes, air pillow, carabiners, compass, flashlight, sneakers, face wipes, sunscreen, insect repellant (in many forms), hair brush, hair ties, travel cosmetics, washing wipes, water treatment drops, baselayer from Patagonia, down vest and hooded jacket from Uniqlo and nail kit!
It is always a good idea to check out the travel sections of stores like Target and Sephora. No need to bring full size items and they have great options. You don't need to spend too much or slack on your beauty routine with the good selection of items!
Packing for my trip to Peru & Panama (more posts to come...) was tricky with the different activities and climates we were going to be doing, but I felt prepared and was happy with how I packed at the end of the trip! The backpack from The North Face was great as you can actually charge devices from the backpack! The different pockets were great for separating items and it was ideal for the hike we did (we didn't have to carry the sleeping bags etc. the porters did!). The straw Shopper bag from H&M was great for walking around the cities we visited as it had a top zip for security and was big enough that I could put my digital SLR camera inside. My Very Bradley duffle bag (on sale now!) was the perfect size for fitting what I needed to bring- needed layers for the Peru portion of the trip and then lighter clothes for Panama. My Patagonia fleece came in handy as a layer and I got lots of compliments on the color. I brought the black wristlet convertible to crossbody bag and the blue wristlet and they worked out very well. The blue wristlet is from Cole Haan and the strap unhooks so I was able to hook it to my backpack or Shopper bag for security. The wristlet was great for walking around Panama and I was able to keep them both inside the backpack while hiking! I didn't end up taking the personal safe with me, but it is great to have on hand. It is small and light enough to take with, fits a passport, money and some other small items and the cable allows you to attach it to something so someone can't run off with it!
I saw these coasters online at Nordstrom the other day while shopping Early Access to the Anniversary Sale and thought they were cute. They would make great gifts or be nice in your own place. Always a good idea to have coasters to protect your tables from liquid rings!
I took advantage of a rainy Sunday about a week ago and went through a bunch of my clothing to see what I could give away for donation. I managed to fill up a garbage bag so it is nice to have the space and hopefully someone can get some use out of the clothing. My sister also donated a bag. Sometimes we give to Big Brother Big Sister, but this time we brought the bags to a Mobil gas station and put them in the Planet Aid Donation bin. I might try to give even more away on the next rainy day! Always remember there are many in need so donate clothing you no longer need/want/wear!
Anyone else hate how headphone cords get all tangled up or fall out of your ears when you move your handbag or take a coat off? I do, so I decided it was time to get wireless headphones. I splurged a bit and got these ones, but I do like them so far. They come with different sizes for the ear buds and you can control the volume on the short cord. Easy to connect via Bluetooth and they can be neatly put away in the zip hard shell carrying case, which also makes them good for travel! I bought mine at Apple, but they are available elsewhere too.
